What is Cityrama Gray Line Portugal?

Cityrama is one of Portugal’s main tour operators since 1963. Gray Line is the agency that operates hop-on hop-off buses in Lisbon, along with 700 other cities in Portugal and Europe.

The routes offered by Cityrama Gray Line, either by bus or boat, include dozens of stops in culturally and historically relevant spots of Lisbon. Along with the beautiful view, Cityrama Gray Line buses offer audio tours in 16 languages, and audio tours for children in Portuguese and English. Buses run regularly during the day and allow you to get in or out at any stop, to explore the city at your own pace.

Which routes are available?

There are five bus routes to choose from. Each route has a duration of one to two hours.

 

Blue Line: Oriente

  • Departure Point: Praça Marquês de Pombal
  • Duration: 2h
  • Frequency: every hour from 09h45 – 16h45, and 18h00.

The Blue Line is art, fashion, museums, and antiques, with a touch of modern and lots of activities in between. This route is very much kid-friendly, with two of the stops being the Oceanarium and the Lisbon Zoo. This line also takes you to Centro Colombo, where you can find activities for the whole family, grab a bite, or just shop for essentials or souvenirs.

 

Red Line: Belém

  • Departure Point: Praça Marquês de Pombal
  • Duration: 2h
  • Frequency: every 25 minutes from 09h30 – 18h00.

The Belém Line will take you through the most important streets and buildings in Lisbon. You will also get the chance to see the most emblematic monuments that are part of the city’s history.

 

Orange & Yellow Lines: Cascais

From white sandy dunes to imponent cliffs, the sunny beaches of Cascais are a delight to see and experience. The Orange & Yellow Lines take you along the beautiful coast of Lisbon, and through essential monuments such as the Jerónimos Monastery and Padrão dos Descobrimentos.

Orange: Lisbon – Cascais

  • Departure Point: Praça Marquês de Pombal
  • Duration: 2h
  • Frequency: 9h30 and 15h30.

Yellow: Cascais – Lisbon

  • Departure Point: Casa das Histórias Paula Rego
  • Duration: 1h15m
  • Frequency: 12h00 and 18h00.

Green Line: Castle

  • Departure Point: Praça Marquês de Pombal
  • Duration: 1h30m
  • Frequency: every 20 minutes from 09h40 – 18h00.

The green line takes you to the heart of Lisbon, the historical centre where Fado, folklore, and tales as old as time are sung and told. This route includes the St. George Castle, belvederes, and important cultural spots that are integral part of the Lisbon experience.
